I found Rodeway Inn Sacramento-University Area to be a budget-friendly option for my stay, and while it met my basic needs, there were significant downsides. The staff was generally friendly and accommodating, but the cleanliness of my bathroom left a lot to be desired. Although the location is convenient, the overall experience was average at best, and I might consider other options next time.
Rooms

The room was clean, but the bathroom was unacceptable with a bad smell and visible dirt. Several cockroaches were a major concern too.

It's conveniently located near downtown Sacramento, making it easy to get around. However, the noise from the street was quite disruptive.

I had a mixed experience at the Rodeway Inn Sacramento-University Area. The staff was friendly and helpful, which I appreciated, but the location wasn't the best and there was noticeable noise from the highway. My room was generally clean and spacious, though I did encounter some cleanliness issues that could be improved. Overall, it serves its purpose for an affordable stay, but it has its drawbacks. 😊
Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was spacious and mostly clean, but there were some cleanliness issues I encountered, like hair in the tub and on the linens. Despite that, the bed was fairly comfortable, and I appreciated the temperature control.
Service
5.0
The staff was friendly and polite. They responded quickly to my concerns about cleanliness and moved me to another room without hassle.
Location

The hotel is near the freeway, which is convenient if you have a car, but the surrounding area feels a bit rough. I found it difficult to walk to nearby places due to the highway layout and didn’t feel entirely safe at night.
Dining
5.0
There was coffee available in the lobby, but no breakfast offerings. It would be nice to have more dining options within walking distance, as the nearby fast-food outlet required crossing a busy intersection.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel has a pleasant pool and secure parking, though I didn’t use the parking facility. It was nice to have Wi-Fi that worked well throughout my stay.

I had a pleasant stay at the Rodeway Inn Sacramento-University Area. The check-in process was a breeze, thanks to Ashika at the front desk who recognized my previous visits. My room was clean and comfortable, although there were a few hiccups like the lack of in-room coffee and just one shampoo provided for my entire stay. However, I appreciated the vending machines and ice machines available on both floors.
Rooms
8.0
The room was spacious and clean with a comfy bed and working heating and A/C. It also had a nice fragrance and was well-stocked with towels.
Service

The hotel is conveniently located near UC Davis, but I did notice some noisy street traffic. The gated parking provides extra security, which is a plus.
Dining
6.0
There was no in-room coffee, but the morning coffee in the lobby was a nice touch. A pancake machine was also available for breakfast.
Facilities

My stay at Rodeway Inn Sacramento-University Area was a mixed bag. The staff was friendly and check-in was quick, which I appreciated, but the neighborhood had its fair share of issues and my room had some cleanliness concerns. Overall, the affordability seemed to be the best perk, considering I was in a pricey area.
Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious and clean, but I noticed some issues like a dirty bathtub and an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. The bed was firm, which might not be for everyone, but the room was equipped with a working TV and good free Wi-Fi.
Service

The service was excellent, particularly from the staff who made me feel welcome and accommodated my needs. They were friendly and quick to help when I needed it, which made the stay more enjoyable.
Location

The location was not great; it felt a bit unsafe with the urban environment and visible issues like litter and some unsavory activity nearby. I wouldn't walk around alone at night. However, it was close to the light rail, which was a plus.
Dining
5.0
There was no breakfast offered, which was a bummer, but they did have coffee available in the lobby. I would have liked at least some light snacks or breakfast options.
Facilities
7.0
I enjoyed the pool area, which looked nice, and there's secure parking available. Those features were decent, but I felt the overall facilities could use some updates.
